Finally! Finished the sculpture I did for 
's contest!
The theme was to sculpt an Aquatic creature. My subject: A Common Mudpuppy! I adore Salamanders, and Mudpuppies are one of the cutest kinds! Plus, with their external frilly gills, they've got to spend most (if not ALL) of their life in the water!
But I didn't sculpt just ANY Mudpuppy- I chose to paint it in the colors of one that has traits of Progenesis. Progenesis is fairly common in Mudpuppies: Simply put, it's when they reach maturity but their body doesn't change out of it's larval appearance. So instead of turning stony-gray with white spots, it keeps the black skin and beautiful colorations! (:

I'm so sorry for the horrible-quality photos! Unfortunately I don't have enough time before the deadline to re-take them. ): If it's allowed, I can try to get some better photos tomorrow morning, but I'm not sure if my camera will let me do it. ): It absolutely HATES taking photos of things like this!
It's hard to tell, but all the toes were individually shaped and sculpted, the gills have a bunch of tiny notches in them (That I had to add with my FINGERNAIL, due to lack of any kind of alternate sculpting tools, haha. xD) and he's got a big grin etched onto his face!
OHMYGOODLORD. Various parts of this guy broke a grand total of 13 times, in 9 different places (some parts broke off after I re-attached them..) and due to the many breaks, some of the sculpey crumbled off, and caused some slight deformities.. I had so much trouble with him, I'M JUST GLAD THAT HE'S FINISHED AAAAAGH. DX
Chances are that, once the contest is over, I may end up coating him with a nice glaze and then I might sell him. It's not GREAT, but he's still a cute little guy to have looking at you on your desk! (:
